Night in the Desert

Day 1 – Into the Empty Quarter & Desert Camp

Depart in the afternoon towards the Empty Quarter (Rub Al Khali), crossing the vast gravel desert of Al Nejd with a short stop at Thumrait.

Arrive at the sand dunes of Al Khadaf, where your 4×4 adventure begins with dune bashing across the rolling desert landscape.

Enjoy a sunset over the dunes before reaching the desert camp. On arrival, relax with Arabic coffee and dates.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner followed by time to unwind at the camp, with optional shisha under the desert sky.

Overnight stay at the desert camp.

Day 2 – Lost City of Ubar & Frankincense Wadi

After breakfast at the camp, visit the Lost City of Ubar (UNESCO site), known as the “Atlantis of the Sands”.

Continue to Wadi Dawka (UNESCO site), home to the largest natural growth of frankincense trees, and learn about its historical importance.

Return to Salalah by late morning.
