Eastern Dhofar

Day 1 – East Dhofar & Jebel Safari

Start with a 4×4 drive towards the coastal village of Taqa, with a visit to Taqa Castle, a historic former residence of the regional governor.

Continue to Sumharam (Khor Rori – UNESCO site), an ancient port and key hub in the frankincense trade.

Proceed to Wadi Darbat, a lush valley ideal for a short walk, often surrounded by camels and grazing animals. During the Khareef season, waterfalls and greenery transform the landscape.

Visit Tawi Attair Sinkhole (Well of Birds), one of the largest in the world.

Drive up to Jebel Samhan, reaching a high plateau with panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding mountain ranges.

Continue through the Qara Mountains, passing traditional villages and scenic landscapes with multiple photo stops.

Return to the hotel.
