Begin with a visit to the coastal village of Taqa, including Taqa Castle, the former residence of the regional governor.
Continue to Sumharam (Khor Rori – UNESCO site), an ancient port city that played a key role in the frankincense trade routes connecting Arabia, India, and the Mediterranean.
Drive onward to Mirbat, the old capital of Dhofar. Walk through traditional Omani houses and stop at the Bin Ali Tomb, known for its distinctive twin domes.
Head west to Mughsail Beach, famous for its white sands and dramatic blowholes, where seawater shoots through natural rock formations during high tide.
Continue along the scenic mountain road towards the Oman–Yemen border, stopping to see naturally growing frankincense trees in the valleys. Take a short walk to experience the landscape and scent of the region.
Return to the hotel.
